Flushing Meadow NYC Soap Box Derby

The Soap Box Derby is a youth racing program which has run nationally since 1934.

World Championships finals are held each July at Derby Downs.

Gravity Powered and S.T.E.M Driven!

Flushing Meadow NYC Soap Box Derby has a collaboration agreement with Vaughn College (Vaughn College.edu) that enhances our S.T.E.M. program.

A Soap Box Derby INSPIRES. It’s ENGAGING and CHALLENGING and creates PASSION. It provides EDUCATION in SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING and MATH.

It teaches LEADERSHIP, SPORTSMANSHIP and PERSEVERANCE. It provides MENTORSHIP, COMPETITION, FRIENDSHIP and TEAMWORK. It’s rooted in FAMILY and COMMUNITY and creates CHAMPIONS on and off the track.

Annual FMNYCSBD Parade

The annual Flushing Meadow NYC Soap Box Derby Parade is held on the first Saturday in June. Join us on the second Saturday in June for our annual Soap Box Derby Races. We look forward to seeing you there!
