Meet the Director Emeritus

Henry Foster

Greetings,

As the Director Emeritus of the Flushing Meadow Soap Box Derby NYC (FMSBDNYC), it gives me immense gratification to congratulate the champions of this year’s FMSBDNYC team. I salute the parents, the guardians, and mentors on the completion of constructing their cars for our annual competition. The sponsors, the contributors and FMSBDNYC aspire to provide support to our participants and give them an enjoyable experience.

FMSBDNYC is a project based program that implements a learning tool that assist with cognitive development and confidence in children ages 7 through 17. The program incorporates math, science, and mechanical information to a project that relies on their personal ingenuity.

We contribute to the welfare, educational development, moral guidance, and creative expression of our participants. My philosophy stresses that we are obligated and accountable to motivate future generations to succeed. I am grateful for all the churches, community organizations, businesses, professional and political leaders who give their time, resources and effort freely and without hesitation or procrastination.

FMSBDNYC’s vision is for all children to have the self-assurance that they are achievers. We want to impart in them values that confirm they are tomorrow’s leaders. It has been a delight to collaborate with exceptional supporters, contributors and visionaries who share the same ideology

FMSBDNYC is committed to providing a community-based program that develops character and self-confidence in our young people.

Sincerely,
Henry Foster
Director Emeritus of Flushing Meadow NYC Soap Box Derby
